After my son suffered a gunshot wound to the head, I wished that there was a hub of information to help navigate through the process of his recovery.
DMV Mothers Like Me was established for other mothers who have that same wish.
The mission of this group is to connect mothers who reside in suburban areas of DC, Maryland and Virginia whose lives have been directly impacted by gun violence.
To provide a hub of resources and recommendations for crime and crisis support, health and wellness programs, legal services, and a host of other information that may not be easily accessible otherwise. We are also committed to partnering with community leaders and organizations to promote advocacy programs and related services available to affected families.
Join DMV Mothers Like Me, on June 8th at 8:00 AM for our 4th annual event, as we walk across the Woodrow Wilson Bridge in Oxon Hill, Maryland, honoring gun violence Survivors and Victims. This symbolic gathering unites national, state, and local organizations in our shared commitment to end gun violence. Wear orange, walk with purpose, and stand in solidarity with us as we strive for a safer, more peaceful community. Register from April 15 to May 26 to make a difference and join the movement. Together, we can enact meaningful change. For more details and opportunities to participate, please click the links to the right. →
